Who I am

Ciao! My name is Emanuele Tosto, but everyone calls me Lele, and I’m Sicilian. I say I’m Sicilian and not Italian, not because I don’t feel Italian, but because I feel more Sicilian than Italian. I love my land more than anything else and for me staying here 8 months will be a challenge that I want to be able to complete.

“E quannu mi sapi luntanu du ionna, a so uci d’angelo mi rici tonna”
And when I’m away from her two days, her angelic voice tells me ‘come back’ (TRANSLATE)

I am 20 years old, and I accepted with enthusiasm, albeit with a little fear, this important experience as it perfectly pertains to my current degree course (History, Politics and International Relations) and to increase my personal and professional experience beyond knowing new uses, cultures and customs, as I believe it can be an excellent opportunity to broaden my horizons. I want to take full advantage of the time I have in this place, so different from my beloved Catania, to carry out all kinds of activities even outside of my abilities and learn as many things as possible.

The most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen in my life (Wisła lake)

On my person I can say that I am a fan of comics and manga, I really like football, and I have had the opportunity to play both football and futsal for a long time, and I have also coached a team of African immigrants in Catania, and it is it was a wonderful experience that taught me so much. I love nature, especially animals, and I deal with environmental protection and education as a LIPU volunteer.

Me with my african wonder boys.

My dream is to build an open and usable social and cultural space for everyone in my city, in the hope of being able to give those who come from bad economic and social situations a chance of salvation from delinquency, a very plague widespread in Sicily. Thanks to the Fundacja Rozwoju Spoleczenstwa Prezedsiebiorczego which gave me the opportunity to participate in this exciting experience for my life.

GRAZIE!
