MOK – Empowering regions through the volunteering 2

09/01/2022 – 08/01/2023

Hi everyone. My name is Alena, I’m 23, and I came from really cold Russia! It is a country full of unforgettable places and people. As well as the deepest lake in the world, the longest river in Europe, and the most time zones in one country. But my favorite thing about Russia is the ease with which you can find loyal forever-friends. I still can’t believe that I have a whole year of discovering Polish culture and language!

Challenge Yourself in Rybnik 2.0

22/01/2022 – 22/08/2022

Hello, everyone! My name is Anita. I am from Russia. I was born and raised in one of the biggest cities on Earth – not as big as Tokyo or New York but still… in quite a huge place, in Moscow. I love learning. How happy I am to be discovering so many new things now, in languages, history, culture, traditions. I love finding out new things about how the world works, like acquiring knowledge in fields that are completely new for me and be mastering my current skills. And the more you learn, the more you want to discover. I am hungry for knowledge. I can’t wait to see what I’ll get to know next.

Empowering regions through volunteering 2

22/04/2022 – 14/03/2023

Hello everyone! I am Mariam Melikidze, 27 years old, from Tbilisi, Georgia – the ancient homeland of wine. I am a volunteer in Poland in the frame of European Solidarity Corps Program at the FRSP office For following 11 months and the project is ” empowering regions throughout volunteering 2 “. My country – Georgia is located in Caucasus, at the interconnection of Eastern Europe and western Asia. This mix made our culture full of diversities and made us loyal to every ethnic group in Georgia. I have got formal education, work experience, but I felt the need of challenge in life. Volunteering is not only a challenge but the way to serve a society and express the gratitude of being part of it. So I chose the Poland, one of the dearest partner of Georgia on the path of euro integration and NATO membership. I am looking forward to getting a lifetime experience, study Polish and make a lot of friends.

Daniel

Challenge yourself in Rybnik 2.0

17/04/2022 – 27/10/2022

Hello, My name is Daniel Gómez Carrasco. I came from what we call in Spanish “the sunshine coast”, which is in Malaga, Spain. Last year I finished the bachelor degree of Dramatic arts, so I am a professional actor who came to Poland to be a volunteer. I am 25 years old and I enjoy all kinds of things, even when these things are very different. I try to be an open-minded person who can speak of whatever topic you want, I will listen and try to understand why it is important to you. I am participating in the project “Challenge yourself in Rybnik 2.0”. You can find me in the historical mine museum Ignacy, where I will be helping in all kinds of activities, like Spanish play dates to teach and improve the knowledge of kids. What I always thought and was always taught is that being a volunteer is about giving without expecting a reward. But the experience has taught me you will repay, of course not in a material way, however in a spiritual or experience way, because when you give to others, they are also giving you something. It’s a little bit difficult to explain. I am willing to give as much as I can.

Knarik

Empowering regions through volunteering 2

06/09/2021-25/08/2022

Hi!  I’m Knarik from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. A city big enough to discover something new everyday and small enough to know and be friendly with people living there. I have been in Poland already for 8 months, volunteering in a cultural center in Oświęcim. I have a lot of exciting tasks, and in addition to the main tasks I have side tasks that are very interesting.

I’ve experienced the best parts of being a volunteer and I will have more experience in the remaining 4 months.

I’m proud to be here, to be part of a great team and to gain a lot of new skills.
