Hello, everyone! Aah, guys, actually, we should have gotten acquainted with you before. But here we go, I hope it is not too late to introduce myself.
Let’s start with the basics, shall we?
My name is Anita.
In the place I come from every person who hears my name tries to call me Anna and does not believe that Anita is an actual name. (Please, do not do that)
So, you can imagine how happy I am to be in Poland – where everyone accepts my name and does not mix it up with Anna.
Anita comes from my parents’ names – Anna and Tair.
An and Ta. “And” is pronounced as “i” as in the word “kit” in Russian.
So yeah, I am from Russia. I was born and raised in one of the biggest cities on Earth – not as big as Tokyo or New York but still… in quite a huge place, in Moscow.
What can I say about myself?
Here, from the beginning of my journey, from the moment I was stepping on the board of the plane, I have been noticing more things about myself. So, I can share some of them with you today. For example,
I enjoy long walks. A week ago I was walking at night, singing and looking at the sky, at all of the stars that I’d missed so much since one cannot usually see them in Moscow. It was sort of meditating even.
I love learning. How happy I am to be discovering so many new things now, in languages, history, culture, traditions. I love finding out new things about how the world works, like acquiring knowledge in fields that are completely new for me and be mastering my current skills.
And the more you learn, the more you want to discover. I am hungry for knowledge. I can’t wait to see what I’ll get to know next. Curiouser and curiouser!
I adore people. It is amazing to hear all of their stories, get to see what they love and value, how they live, how they talk about their passions.
Oh, when they are singing their favorite songs and you cannot help but cry happy tears,
when they tell you how they want to live like a nomad and you see their eyes shine,
when they keep switching languages every minute, and it annoys you because you can’t understand them fully but at the same time it mesmerizes you,
when they show you their works of art and you see how much talent there is in them.
And I love adventure more than anything.
“And who knows what Romance, what Adventure, what Love, is lurking around the next turn of the road, ready to leap out on us if we’ll only travel that far?”
Hopefully, there will be more and more things that I learn about myself and the people around me while being on my volunteering project.
And for now, I’ll be heading to work, to the people who have already become very dear to me.
Till next time. Do następnego razu.
